About the role

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst/Manager to join its Strategic Business Operations and Analytics (SBOA) team. This role is designed to support the Vice President of Commercial and Competitive Insights (CCI) within the Pipeline & Platform Innovation (PΠ) group. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive analytical tasks that help shape the company's commercial strategies and competitive intelligence efforts across its ecosystem of companies. The position involves engaging in data-driven analysis, developing frameworks, and providing insights that inform decision-making processes at the highest levels of the organization. What you'll do

- Support the evaluation of potential commercial opportunities by analyzing market data, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to identify strategic advantages and risks.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis using various databases and information sources to assess market dynamics, emerging trends, and competitors' strategies.
- Develop and refine analytical models that assist in evaluating investment opportunities, product concepts, and pipeline projects, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
- Create and maintain reusable analytical frameworks, tools, and dashboards that streamline processes and enhance the efficiency of the CCI team's operations.
- Leverage AI technologies, such as Claude and ChatGPT,



to synthesize large volumes of documents, extract structured insights, and support complex analysis tasks.
- Test and validate concepts for differentiation, commercial viability, and strategic fit before presenting findings to senior leadership.
- Prepare detailed reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate insights effectively to executives and cross-functional teams.
- Oversee the execution of assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Respond to ad hoc inquiries from leadership and other teams, providing rapid, data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Engage in continuous learning across scientific, financial, and analytical disciplines to stay current with industry developments and enhance analytical capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with other teams within Flagship, including scientific, business development, and portfolio management groups, to align insights with broader company objectives.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and processes that improve the overall effectiveness of the SBOA team.

Requirements

- A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in a quantitative, biological, or business discipline is preferred. A PhD is not necessary.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in management consulting, equity research, investment banking, corporate strategy, or a similar analytical role, ideally within the life sciences or biotech sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, construct frameworks, and derive actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive,



and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative team player with a flexible attitude and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
