Auto Electrician / Heavy Vehicle Technician
Quinlan Cranes is seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our team in Laverton North, Victoria. This is a hands-on role involving the diagnosis, servicing, repair and maintenance of our fleet of cranes, trucks, trailers, & forklifts
This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary, company vehicle, and the opportunity to work with contemporary equipment in a growing and innovative company.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across our fleet of cranes, trucks, trailers and other heavy equipment.
- Installing, testing and repairing electrical systems, wiring, lighting, sensors and electronic control systems.
- Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Assisting with mechanical servicing and repairs when required.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues.
- Carrying out inspections and identifying potential faults before they become major repairs.
- Rebuilding and replacing electrical and mechanical components where required.
- Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
- Sourcing and ordering parts.
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Working collaboratively with the workshop and operations team to maximise fleet availability.
What We're Looking For
- Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician.
- Experience working on heavy vehicles, cranes, trucks, trailers, earthmoving or construction equipment is highly regarded.
- Strong electrical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Willingness to carry out mechanical servicing and repairs as part of the role.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A current HR or HC truck license would be highly advantageous.
- Australian work authorization is required for this position.
