Program Overview
As a Pre-field Trainee – Dealer Service Operations (Product Support) you will participate in an 18–24 month Field Representative development program that accelerates your career through hands‑on rotations, technical training, and international exposure.
Product Support Focus
Product Support at Caterpillar helps dealers optimize parts and service operations to improve equipment uptime and business performance. The role is not focused on product design or engineering development; instead, it involves collaborating with Cat dealers to improve operations, influence business outcomes, and deliver customer support throughout the equipment lifecycle.

Rotational Assignments

Future Role
Upon successful completion of the program you will move into a field role that includes:
- Partnering with Cat dealers to improve parts and service operations
- Building dealer capability and driving process improvement initiatives
- Executing product support and aftermarket strategies that improve customer outcomes
- Supporting customers by helping dealers solve operational and business challenges
- Using data and insights to identify opportunities and deliver sustainable solutions
- Acting as a trusted advisor to dealers, helping them improve performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, Data Analytics, Operations Management, or a related discipline
- Experience managing or supporting projects, process improvement initiatives, or operational improvements
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Enjoyment of problem solving and working with data
- Demonstrated growth mindset and adaptability
- Willingness to travel up to 30% and relocate within Australia
- Full working rights in Australia
You may also have up to three years of experience in engineering, project management, operations, or change management.
Additional Information
Applicants will be considered from across Australia, but relocation may be required after the developmental period. Company support is provided for relocation.
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
