Interstate travel will also be a potential part of this role, travling to other states to install our booths would be ideal.

Role Purpose

The Cabinet Maker / Joiner plays a key role in the end-to-end fabrication of custom projects. This position requires a tradesperson with strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the versatility to work across multiple materials and build styles. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of one-off,



high-end joinery pieces and installations while maintaining Social Booth's reputation for quality, reliability, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Assembly

- Construct custom cabinetry, joinery, and installation components using timber, plywood, laminate, MDF, and composite materials.

- Carry out precise cutting, shaping, routing, edge-banding, sanding, and assembly tasks.

- Complete detailed joinery work including frames, carcasses, drawers, shelving, trims, and finishing pieces.

- Work from technical drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency with project specifications.

Workshop Operation

- Safely operate fixed machinery including panel saws, table saws, spindle moulders, thicknessers, sanders, and CNC equipment (if experienced).

- Confidently use hand and power tools such as routers, drills, biscuit joiners, and nail guns.

- Assist in the upkeep of workshop tools, equipment, and machinery including basic troubleshooting and reporting faults.

Finishing & Fitting

- Install hardware, fixtures, and fittings including hinges, drawer runners, handles, and brackets.

- Perform fine finishing work such as sanding, detailing, and applying surface treatments when required.

- Conduct dry fitting and final assembly to ensure smooth, functional operation of completed components.

Quality Control

- Conduct self-checks throughout each stage of the build to identify mistakes before project handover.

- Maintain strict adherence to quality standards, ensuring longevity, durability, and precise workmanship.

- Manage accurate measurements and ensure builds match design specifications and project briefs.

Collaboration & Project Delivery





- Work collaboratively with the Production Manager, designers, and fabricators to deliver projects on time.

- Communicate proactively about potential issues, design challenges, or material limitations.

- Participate in project planning discussions and provide practical input into build methods.

- Support team members during high-volume periods and contribute to smooth workflow across the workshop.

Workshop Safety & Housekeeping

- Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free workspace at all times.

- Follow WHS procedures and ensure safe operation of all machinery.

- Assist in maintaining inventory of materials, consumables, and hardware.

Required Skills & Experience

Trade & Technical

- Qualified Cabinet Maker or Joiner (Certificate III in Cabinet Making or equivalent).

- 3+ years of relevant workshop or fabrication experience preferred.

- Strong understanding of joinery techniques, materials, and fabrication methods.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and cutting lists with accuracy.

- Comfortable working across a variety of materials used in custom fabrication.
