About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Invoicing Officer to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and processing of customer invoicing activities across the business. Working closely with operational teams, managers, and customers, you will ensure revenue is captured and billed correctly, customer accounts are maintained accurately, and outstanding debts are actively monitored and collected in a timely manner.
You will also provide valuable administrative and reporting support to the broader Finance team, while proactively resolving account queries and contributing to the smooth and productive operation of the accounts receivable function.
Key Responsibilities
Process daily customer invoices accurately and within required timeframes.
Reconcile all incoming receipts daily within multiple bank accounts & entities.
Manage debt collection activities and facilitate regular debtor review meetings with internal stakeholders.
Prepare and issue monthly customer statements.
Liaise with managers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
Maintain and update Programmed Maintenance Agreements (PMAs).
Process and assess new customer credit account applications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and files.
Manage the electronic filing of all accounts receivable documentation, including invoices, project claims, and supporting reports.
Escalate persistent non-payment issues in line with company policy.
Provide general administrative support and undertake office duties as required.
What we're Looking For
Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping.
Significant experience in a credit control or accounts receivable role.
Knowledge of relevant credit legislation (e.g. Australian Consumer Law, PPSA).
Experience in the construction industry with knowledge in terms of the Security of Payments Act (Australia wide), progress claims, cash retentions & bank guarantees.
Experience in a medium to large organisations.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications especially Excel.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers.
Ability to work in a demanding, high-volume environment and meet company deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately maintain financial records.
