Your Team

As a member of the ASX test team, you will work closely with Developers, Support Analysts, Business Analysts, Test Engineers, Automation Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers and Business Stakeholders to review and clarify requirements, strengthen testability, plan and execute testing, manage defects, report progress and escalation risks and issues to the Test Manager.

Your responsibilities

- Design, develop andmaintainscalable Java-based automated test frameworks and reusable automation components.

- Study, improve andmodernizeexisting automation frameworks, executionprocessesand CI/CD pipelines.

- Build andmaintainautomated testing pipelines using Git, GitLab CI/CDor equivalent tooling.

- Promote shift-left testing by working with BAs,Developersand Product Owners to review requirements for clarity,testabilityandautomationreadiness.

- Plan,



develop and execute automated and manual test cases for ASX Trade and related market platform changes.

- Validate market data, orderflowand interfacebehavioracross applicable trading protocols such as FIX,ITCHand OUCH that are relevant.

- Support system, system integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel, operationalreadinessand production verification testing activities.

- Prepare test data, manage test environmentdependenciesand troubleshoot execution issues across Linux/Unix and integrated environments.

- Document test results, produce release evidence and support sign-off so releases can be promoted safely to production.

- Log, investigate and report defects withclear evidence, impact,severityand reproducibility details.

- Work closely with BAs, Developers, Support Analysts, Infrastructureteamsand Business Stakeholders to communicate test status,risksand issues.

- Contribute actively to the QE&T; Community of Practice, including automation standards, engineeringpracticesand continuous improvement initiatives.

- Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

- Work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities whilemaintaininga strong focus on quality,deliveryand business outcomes.

Your experience and qualifications

Must have

- 7-9 years of automation testing experience, including API and integration testing across different protocols.

- Strong Java automation experience, with the ability to build reusable libraries,utilitiesand maintainable frameworks.

- Valuable working knowledge of Python and the ability to extend or support Python-based frameworks.

- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, clean codingpracticesand framework design patterns.

- Experience with Cucumber,Gherkinandbehavior-driven test automation approaches.

- Experience across system,



system integration, regression, end-to-end, parallel and release verification testing.

- Hands-on experience with CI tools and CI/CD pipelines, including setup,maintenanceand execution monitoring.

- Experience using Git, GitLab or equivalent source control and branching strategies.

- Strong Linux/Unix command-line capability and troubleshooting skills.

- Experience with test environment coordination, test datasetupand execution dependency management.

- Experience with Jira and Confluence for test management, defectmanagementand project documentation.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.

- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in medium to large project teams.

Nice to have

- Experience in financial markets, exchanges, electronictradingor market infrastructure.

- Experience with FIX Protocol and market data/order entry protocols such as ITCH and OUCH.

- Exposure to trading platforms,broker tradingor similar financial market automation tools.

- Experience with Kubernetes,containersor cloud-native test execution environments.

- Experience with performance, resilience,failoveror operational readiness testing.

- Use of Performance tools such as JMeter and Gatling.

- Experience with observability,monitoringor log-analysis tools used for test investigation.

- Exposure to servicevirtualization, APImockingor test data automation.

- Agile delivery experience and experience working in CI/CD delivery teams.
