Position Summary

The General Labourer assists site leadership and trades to ensure construction tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

This role supports site operations through manual labour, material handling, safety compliance and maintaining a clean, organised and professional site environment.

Job Responsibilities

Corporate & Site Presentation

- Represent Lexicon professionally at all times
- Maintain clean and organised work areas
- Ensure site hoarding and fencing remain secure and presentable
- Follow company policies and procedures

Health & Safety

- Comply with all safety legislation and project safety plans
- Complete site inductions as required
- Follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)
- Identify and report hazards immediately
- Participate in Toolbox Meetings and safety discussionsFollow all emergency procedures and directions
- Safety compliance is a core requirement of the role.

Operational Duties

- Assist the Site Manager, Foreman, Leading Hands and Carpenters with construction tasks, including but not limited to:
- Loading and unloading materials
- Moving and distributing materials on site
- Assisting with excavation and ground works
- Mixing, pouring and spreading materials
- Assisting with formwork, scaffolding and ramps (with appropriate training)
- Installing temporary safety systems (where qualified)
- Conducting pre-start checks where trained
- Operating equipment under supervision and training
- General site clean-up and waste removal
- Using hand tools safely and correctly
- Any other delegated site duties

Teamwork & Communication

- Maintain positive working relationships
- Follow instructions from supervisors
- Communicate clearly and respectfully
- Support team productivity and cohesion
