About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Technical Production Operator to join our client's manufacturing and assembly team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on technical environment and has a passion for electro-mechanical devices, precision hardware, and advanced instrumentation.

You will play a key role in building cutting-edge scientific and imaging instruments, performing delicate repairs, supporting testing and development activities, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble electronic, mechanical, and optical components into precision sub-assemblies and modules.
- Build and integrate complete instrument systems to established specifications.
- Perform functional testing using diagnostic equipment to verify performance and identify faults.
- Program and calibrate electronic circuit boards and systems using documented procedures.
- Troubleshoot, rework, repair, service, and recalibrate electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Inspect components and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, quality, and performance standards.
- Maintain accurate service records, test results, calibration documentation, and repair reports.
- Support the development of new products and continuous improvement of existing designs and processes.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

- Certificate, Diploma, Apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics,



Instrumentation, or a related technical field.

Technical Skills

- Proven experience with precision soldering of both through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) components.
- Experience programming or uploading firmware to microcontrollers.
- Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic circuits, components, and signal flow.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, PCB layouts, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in the use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, soldering stations, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of ESD-safe handling procedures and best practices.

Software Skills

- Experience working with microcontroller programming tools.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Exposure to Python or similar software tools will be highly regarded.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organisational skills and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.

Desirable Experience

- Experience assembling, testing, or servicing electro-mechanical, optical, medical, scientific, or laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or quality-controlled workplace.
- Familiarity with calibration, validation, and verification processes.
