As a mid-level engineer, you will own significant features and contribute to the platform's health and resilience. You'll also deepen your technical and architectural understanding within a collaborative team.

Location: Cambridge

Engagement: Permanent, full time, hybrid (in-office once every two weeks)

Compensation: Up to £55,000 DOE

Team: Shared Applications & Services

What you'll do

- Deliver complete features independently across critical internal systems.
- Support systems related to data, security, purchasing, licensing, identity, authentication, and usage for both product engineering and the wider business.
- Influence architectural choices and expand your knowledge of platform design and operation.
- Manage production issues from initial investigation through to resolution and prevention.
- Learn and contribute value from day one, enhancing your technical skills and system knowledge.

Requirements

- Proven experience with modern C#/.NET, SQL, source control, and CI/CD pipelines.




- Ability to apply design principles and architectural patterns, understanding their trade-offs.
- Focus on simplicity and maintainability, supported by strong engineering practices like unit testing, code review, debugging, and safe change management.
- Awareness of distributed systems and operational risks (e.g., timeouts, retries, versioning, partial failures) when modifying shared or production systems.
- Skill in investigating production and support issues using logs, telemetry, database queries, and service-level diagnostics.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, especially when explaining technical findings, risks, or trade-offs to colleagues.
