Performance of laboratory diagnostic (incl. Andrology) and therapeutic (incl. Embryology)

reproductive biology techniques as requested by those to whom he/she is responsible

Specific Responsibilities

- Participation in laboratory roster (including weekends and public holidays as required)
- Maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment
- Performance of laboratory diagnostic (incl. Andrology) and therapeutic (incl. Embryology)
- reproductive biology techniques as requested by those to whom he/she is primarily responsible
- Preparation of culture medias and solutions used in IUI, IVF and ICSI
- Semen analysis and sperm preparation for IUI, IVF and ICSI (including epididymal and testicular)
- Culture and manipulation of gametes and embryos
- Embryo grading for determination of embryos suitability for transfer and/or cryopreservation
- Cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and maintenance of cryo storage facilities
- Biopsy of embryos for PGD and perform PGD techniques for which training has been completed
- Maintenance of accurate records (hard and electronic)

- Discuss embryology and andrology matters with patients and clinicians as required
- Liaison with the Scientific Director appropriate to the clinic on all issues pertaining to the clinic
- Participate in all internal and external quality assurance schemes that QFG subscribes to as coordinated by those to whom he/she is responsible
- Working in clinics/laboratories other than primary location when and as required by the QFG
- The conduct of research and analysis relevant to QFG’s activities as coordinated by those to whom he/she is responsible
- Compliance with the requirements of the laboratory quality management system.
- Compliance with Workplace Health & Safety Guidelines

Essential Qualifications

Science degree, preferably with training or experience in some area of reproductive biology/technology

Desirable Qualifications

- Working knowledge of IT systems
- Understanding of the principles and implementation of quality management systems
