Wallace & Wood is an award-winning artisan ice cream and specialty café located in Bokarina on the Sunshine Coast. We're known for premium products, exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences.
As we continue to grow and prepare to open our second hospitality venue, we're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager/senior cooks/sous chefs wanting their first leadership role to take ownership of our established kitchen.
This is an excellent chance for someone looking to step away from late nights/very early mornings and split shifts while still leading a professional kitchen.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our established kitchen.
The menu, systems and suppliers are already in place, allowing you to focus on delivering consistently high-quality food, leading the team and maintaining excellent kitchen standards.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the kitchen
- Maintain consistency, presentation and food quality
- Manage ordering and stock control
- Monitor food costs and minimise waste
- Train and support kitchen staff
- Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are maintained
- Maintain a positive and professional kitchen culture
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience leading a commercial kitchen not essential but preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Passion for quality food and attention to detail
- Ability to lead by example
- Reliable, calm and professional under pressure
- Excellent food safety knowledge
Trade qualifications are welcomed but not essential. We're looking for the right person with the right attitude and leadership skills.
