Glass Street Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and dedicated 4YO Educator - Sessional Kindergarten to join our early childhood education team. This is a part-time position based in Kew East, Victoria. Working alongside our Kindergarten Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a protected, engaging and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive. This position is fundamental to delivering high-quality early childhood education and fostering the developmental growth of our young learners during their critical formative years.

What you’ll be doing

- Supporting the planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities and play-based learning experiences
- Supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through daily interactions and guided learning
- Creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration and discovery
- Observing and documenting children's progress and development to inform future programming and support individual learning needs
- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues to foster a collaborative community
- Supporting children's independence, self-regulation and emerging social skills
- Maintaining hygiene and safety standards in accordance with Early Childhood Education and Care Quality Standards
- Contributing to staff meetings, professional development and continuous improvement of kindergarten practices
- Assisting with transitions and daily routines

What we’re looking for

- A Diploma Qualified educator (or at minimum Certificate III with over 5 years experience)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings
- A current Working with Children Check (WWC)
- Current Mandatory Reporting certificates




- Demonstrated experience working in an educational or care setting
- Strong knowledge of child development and play-based learning approaches
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children and families
- A commitment to creating inclusive, culturally responsive and equitable learning environments
- Organisational skills and the ability to manage classroom activities and documentation
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and the ability to inspire and engage young learners
- Flexibility, reliability and a qualified approach to sessional work
