The Biodiversity Assessment Officer (Energy) provides specialist biodiversity and land use planning advice for renewable energy projects. The role identifies, assesses and mitigates biodiversity risks inline with the relevant environmental and planning legislation. Working closely with responsible authorities including councils, Traditional Owners and other stakeholders, the position builds capability, ensures compliance with biodiversity regulations, and integrates biodiversity considerations into renewable energy planning and delivery.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary qualification related to naturalresource management; environmental or ecological sciences or similar and / or relevant experience isdesirable.
- Demonstrated ability to apply environmental andbiodiversity assessment processes, focused onbiodiversity risk management and mitigation, native vegetation policy, and related policy and legislation
This is a part time (0.8 FTE) ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within the Grampians or Barwon South West Regions with hybrid work arrangements available.
