This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Occupational Therapy service with a robust reputation across Newcastle and the Hunter region.

You’ll become part of a close-knit team of Occupational Therapists, three Allied Health Assistants and dedicated administrative support. Staff turnover is exceptionally low, with clinicians choosing to remain because of the supportive culture, manageable expectations and genuine investment in professional development.

The position is open to new graduates, early-career OTs and experienced clinicians, with full-time and part-time arrangements available.
The Caseload You’ll support clients aged approximately 15 years and above across a predominantly NDIS-funded caseload, with some private and DVA work.

Common presentations include:

- Stroke and other neurological conditions
- Multiple sclerosis
- Intellectual disability
- Autism
- Physical and functional disabilities
- Complex mobility and equipment needs

The role is well suited to an OT interested in developing skills across:

- Functional Capacity Assessments
- Assistive Technology assessments and prescription
- Complex wheelchairs and seating
- Complex home modifications
- Bathroom modifications
- Supported Independent Living assessments
- Functional rehabilitation and capacity building

This is not a purely psychosocial caseload. The service has a strong focus on neurological, physical and complex disability presentations.

Most travel is approximately 20–30 minutes between appointments. You’ll also have the flexibility to begin your day from home and travel directly to your first client.

Kilometres are reimbursed, and a work vehicle can be available for longer-distance appointments.

About You

The most important qualities are strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills. You’ll be supported with clinical training, so you don’t need previous experience in every area of the caseloads.

You’ll need:

- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current or eligibility for AHPRA registration
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Good time management and organisational abilities
- An interest in neurological, physical and complex disability
- A collaborative and positive approach

New Graduates

You’ll receive:
