Skilled Handyman Opportunity – Major Sydney Hospital

Elite Resource Australia is seeking reliable and experienced Handymen for ongoing work at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The Role

- General maintenance on buildings, plant rooms, engineering services, gardens, and grounds (non‑licensed tasks)
- Installing fittings/fixtures, replacing light bulbs/tubes, repairing leaks, minor plumbing, replacing water filters
- Repairs to furniture, doors, blinds, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and similar tasks
- Accurate communication and record‑keeping (job order forms, service delivery details)
- Checking temperature, pressure, timers, and completing logbooks for hydrotherapy pool, staff pool, steam/hot water boilers
- Assisting with preventative maintenance programs
- Boiler blowdowns on weekend roster as required
- Reporting damage or abnormalities to Engineers
- Supporting the maintenance and engineering team as needed

Children’s Hospital at Westmead

Schedule: Monday to Friday (weekend roster for boiler blowdowns)

Shift Length: 8‑hour days

Pay Rates

- $34/hr — Base
- $45/hr — OT1
- $56/hr — OT2

Requirements

- Clean‑shaven (no facial hair) due to respirator use requirements
- Valid Construction White Card
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience in general maintenance work
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Solid teamwork and independent work capability
- Organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Reliable attendance record
- Previous experience in engineering and/or maintenance environments
