This has resulted in the creation of a highly modular and scalable product suite, which have become integral to a wide range of critical Defence capabilities.

The Position

Responsible for assuring consistent production quality of the Melbourne Production area and inspection of outsourced / in-house mechanical items.

Key responsibilities:

Operating within CEA’s quality standards in the Production area.

Ensure Quality Management System Obligations are met and ensure the development and maintenance of a strong quality culture to meet and exceed customer requirements.

Creating In process Inspection Plans (IPC) for Mechanical items produced in-house.

Conduct inspection of Mechanical items checking conformity against drawings and Models.

Conduct first off and periodic inspections of Mechanical items and uploading results to work order.

Review and escape non-conformance reports and concessions.

Packaging and dispatching of goods produced in-house.





Provide value adding to machined parts which includes Metal Finishing.

Loading Horizontal and Vertical Machine centres.

Operate Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).

Operate Measuring Arm and run comparison with solid CAD model.

Our Ideal Candidate

Minimum Certificate III in Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years post trade experience.

Experience in Mechanical assembly, producing prototypes, 3D modelling preferable in Solid works.

Meticulous attention to detail, ability to maintain focus and sound had/eye coordination skills.

Competent in use of Manual Machining, working with Aluminium, Fitting and Fabrication and Measuring tools at an Advanced level.

Competent in use of Microsoft applications including Excel/Word at Intermediate level.

Experience with Statistical Process Control at a Basic level.

Excellent organisational and communication skills,



with ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

Current Drivers Licence and Overhead Crane Chaser Licence required.

Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing organisational priorities and ambiguous environments

Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline
