Sheike

Newcastle

At SHEIKE, we believe every day can turn into a style statement. For over two decades we've been dressing Australian women to feel confident, feminine and empowered — from the first day of a new job to a wedding, a milestone birthday, or just a great Tuesday.

Today, SHEIKE operates boutiques across every state, backed by a Head Office team in St Peters, NSW, that lives and breathes fashion, community and connection.

We're proudly people-focused, passionate about developing talent, and committed to empowering our team to lead with confidence. Our boutiques are where the magic happens — and our people are at the heart of it all.

We're now looking for a hands‑on, field‑first retail leader to take the reins as our next National Retail Manager — someone who leads from the shop floor, not from behind a desk.

The Opportunity

This is a field-based, execution-focused leadership role responsible for the day-to-day running of every SHEIKE boutique in the network. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll spend the vast majority of your week on the ground in stores, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our State Manager team to bring SHEIKE's operational plan to life — store by store, day by day.

You won't be running the business from a spreadsheet. You'll be the visible, credible leader who makes sure the fundamentals are firing in every boutique, every single day: presentation, selling steps, rostering accuracy, stock integrity and store standards.

When a store needs extra support, you're the one who steps in, diagnoses the issue — whether it's people, product, presentation or process — and stays hands‑on until performance is back where it needs to be.

If you're energised by being in stores more than in meetings, and you'd rather fix a problem on the floor than write a memo about it, this role is built for you.

A Day in the Life

No two days look exactly the same, but a typical week might include:

Visiting three or four boutiques across a region, walking the floor with State Managers and coaching in real time.

Reviewing weekly trading numbers — sales, conversion, ATV/UPT and wages — and agreeing next steps with the team on the ground.

Working through a focus‑store list, digging into what's really driving underperformance and getting hands‑on until it turns around.

Checking in on VM execution, campaign roll‑outs and store presentation against the national directive.

Reporting back to the CEO and Head Office on what you're seeing and hearing in the field — the real, unfiltered picture from the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Store Execution & Field Presence Lead retail execution across the entire store network, spending 80%+ of your time in the field. Maintain a structured store visitation schedule, set the standard through visible, on‑the‑ground leadership, and personally own the network's focus stores — staying hands‑on until performance is restored.

Trading Performance Drive the retail trading plan across the network in partnership with State Managers, monitoring sales, conversion, ATV/UPT and wages, and reviewing weekly trading results to keep every store on track. Ensure the trading calendar, promotions and product launches land consistently everywhere.

Operational Excellence Own the operational fundamentals — compliance, rostering, stock management, cash handling, audits and action plans — across every boutique, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly and stores are always ready for what's next, including openings, refurbishments and relocations.

Coaching & People Support Reinforce SHEIKE's Selling Steps and customer experience standards through real, on‑the‑floor coaching. Support State Managers in developing their teams, identify capability gaps, and help set new leaders up for success from day one.

Visual Merchandising Ensure every boutique reflects SHEIKE's brand standards — from floor layouts and window displays to seasonal campaigns — and provide practical, on‑the‑ground feedback to our Visual Merchandising team.

Communication & Collaboration Be the trusted link between the field and Head Office — communicating priorities down to the stores and bringing real, structured insight back up to the CEO, Buying, Planning and Marketing teams to support smarter business decisions.

What Success Looks Like

Strong like‑for‑like sales growth across the network, with conversion and ATV performing at target.

Wage costs managed within the approved band, with zero compromise on staffing or trading hours.

Shrinkage held within threshold and strong audit scores across every state.

Selling methodology and VM standards consistently verified through store visits and mystery shopping.

A visible, energised presence in stores — 80%+ of your working week spent where it matters most.

What You'll Bring

Solid retail management experience across multiple stores, ideally within fashion or specialty retail.

Genuine confidence with trading numbers — sales, conversion, ATV/UPT and wage data are second nature to you.

A hands‑on operator with a bias for action and a credible, visible presence on the shop floor.

Strong coaching instincts and the ability to lead and develop a team of State Managers.

Comfort liaising with Head Office functions and taking direction from the CEO and support teams.

Willingness and genuine enthusiasm for extensive national travel, with the majority of your time spent in stores.
