We are seeking a Cook to join the culinary team with Polish specific quizine at Polish Retirement Home on a casual basis. This is a valued position within our organisation, where you will play an essential role in providing nourishing, high-quality meals to our residents. Based in Bayswater, VIC 3153, you will contribute to the health, wellbeing and satisfaction of our community through thoughtful food preparation and a commitment to excellence in the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus and dietary requirements
- Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, hygiene and presentation
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workplace in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Store food items appropriately and monitor stock levels to prevent waste
- Accommodate special dietary needs, cultural preferences and nutritional requirements of residents
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
- Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role, ideally within a hospitality, aged care or institutional setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills




- A genuine passion for preparing nutritious and appetising meals
- Flexibility and willingness to work casual hours as required
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Understanding of dietary requirements and cultural considerations in meal preparation is highly valued
- Current food handling certificate or equivalent qualification is preferred
