The mission

Why this role exists Scale without security is negligence. You will own the foundations — infrastructure, access, and secure architecture — so that Aooma's systems protect the people who depend on them from the first deploy, not as an afterthought.

The work

What you'll work on

- Secure, reliable infrastructure and deployment pipelines for Aooma's systems.
- Threat models, access controls, secrets management, and sensible defaults.
- Observability, incident response, and clear rollback paths.
- Privacy-preserving architecture so user data is protected by design.

Proof

What strong signal looks like

- Infrastructure you have designed, operated, and secured in production.
- Threat models, audits, or security reviews you have carried out.
- Evidence you think about failure, blast radius, and recovery — not just the happy path.

Day to day

Responsibilities

- Design and operate secure, observable infrastructure as code.
- Build threat models and harden systems against realistic attacks.
- Own secrets, access control, and secure-by-default configuration.
- Lead incident response and make systems recoverable and auditable.

What we need

Requirements

- Solid experience running production infrastructure (a major cloud and/or Cloudflare).
- Practical security knowledge: threat modelling, access control, secrets, common attacks.




- Infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD experience.
- A bias toward inspectable, recoverable systems over clever but opaque ones.

Bonus

Useful, but not required

- Privacy / data-protection or compliance experience.
- Security work specific to AI or data-intensive systems.
- Relevant certifications — useful, but proof of real work matters more.

We will dig into systems you have secured and operated. Expect a discussion of a real architecture or incident: the risks you saw, the trade-offs you made, and how you would harden it further.
