The Role
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, you will provide technical expertise across a broad range of Quality Control activities within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Working as a senior member of the laboratory, you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day testing while leading complex analytical activities including method validation, method transfer and technical troubleshooting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, stability samples and cleaning validation samples.
- Operating, maintaining and troubleshooting HPLC/UPLC, GC and associated laboratory instrumentation.
- Leading analytical method validation, verification and method transfer activities in accordance with TGA and ICH requirements.
- Investigating Out of Specification (OOS), Out of Trend (OOT) and atypical analytical results.
- Preparing and reviewing validation protocols, technical reports and laboratory documentation.
- Providing technical support for manufacturing, validation projects and technology transfer activities.
- Mentoring and supporting junior QC Analysts while reviewing analytical data and documentation.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, equipment qualification and laboratory compliance activities.
- Maintaining the highest standards of GMP, GLP and laboratory safety.
About You
We're looking for an experienced pharmaceutical analytical chemist who combines strong technical capability with a team-oriented and practical approach.
You’ll be someone who enjoys solving complex analytical problems, takes pride in producing high-quality scientific work, and enjoys sharing your knowledge with a developing team.
To be successful you will bring:
- A degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- Approximately five or more years’ experience within a GMP pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratory.
- Extensive hands-on experience operating HPLC/UPLC and GC instrumentation.
- Demonstrated experience designing, executing and reporting analytical method validation and method transfer studies.
- Strong understanding of TGA, ICH and GMP requirements.
- Experience with chromatography data systems such as Empower, OpenLab, LabSolutions or similar.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and support junior laboratory staff.
- A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine passion for quality and continuous improvement.
