Lead a key customer site with full accountability for operational excellence, customer satisfaction and the site's commercial and P&L; performance.

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead our site team at our customer site in Somerton, Melbourne.

About the Role

You will take ownership of the Somerton customer site, leading the site team while ensuring exceptional customer service, operational excellence and strong commercial outcomes. You will have full accountability for the site's Profit and Loss (P&L;) performance.

Working closely with the customer and internal stakeholders, you will ensure contractual commitments are achieved, service levels are maintained and opportunities for continuous improvement are identified and implemented to deliver safe, efficient and profitable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage and support the site team.

Build robust and trusted relationships with customer stakeholders.

Maintain accountability for the site's commercial and P&L; performance.

Manage operational costs and resource utilisation to achieve financial and business objectives.

Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and the achievement of agreed financial targets.

Monitor and report on operational performance, financial outcomes, risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives.

Manage service delivery in line with customer SLA commitments and internal KPIs.

Oversee preventative maintenance, breakdown response, incident reporting, IT updates, change requests and related communication.





Manage customer escalations and provide regular updates on issues that may impact operations.

Support SLA negotiations, renewals, costings and improvement opportunities.

Ensure timely closure of service tickets and the accurate processing of purchase orders and invoicing.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve system performance, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Ensure compliance with WHSE requirements, company policies and contractual obligations.

Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management and disciplinary processes for the site team in partnership with HR.

Develop and maintain effective rosters, processes and procedures to support operational requirements.

About You

You will be an experienced operational leader who is comfortable managing a customer-facing site and taking ownership of both operational and commercial outcomes.

You will bring:

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to work autonomously and make sound operational decisions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing site commercial performance, P&L;, budgeting and forecasting.

Technical trade or engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or a related discipline.





5+ years' experience leading operational teams within an industrial, automation, manufacturing or logistics environment.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Experience within the intralogistics or automated warehousing industry.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Knowledge of 5S, Lean and other Continuous Improvement best practice methodologies.

Sound understanding of the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 and the National Employment Standards, particularly in relation to days and hours of work and rostering.

Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Operations Management or a related discipline.

Working Conditions

This is a customer site-based role requiring flexibility to support operational requirements.

Additional hours may occasionally be required to address urgent system issues, escalations or customer requirements.
