Based in Turrella, Sydney, Thompsons Roller Shutters has been designing, manufacturing, installing and servicing industrial and commercial door products since 1927.

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our production team and preparing to relocate operations to Minto, Sydney, in mid to late 2027.

The Position

This role supports day-to-day factory operations by safely operating overhead cranes, forklifts and other workplace equipment to move, prepare and dispatch materials, finished goods and stock.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy factory environment, assisting with loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe, organised work area to maximise efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

Operate overhead cranes in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements.

Operate forklifts and use trolleys to move materials, finished goods and stock within the workplace.

Maintain a clean, organised and protected work area in line with workplace health and safety procedures.

Prepare, pack, handle and move finished goods for dispatch.

Use powered and hand tools where required.

Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.

Follow WHS requirements, including hazard and incident reporting procedures.

Assist with other production tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For

Experience operating overhead cranes in a factory, warehouse, or industrial environment.

Strong understanding of WHS requirements, safe manual handling, and maintaining an organised, clean and safe work area.

Ability to multitask, meet workload requirements and complete work in a timely and efficient manner.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team‑based production environment.





Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Good organisational and time management skills.

Commitment to quality.

Willingness to assist with other production tasks as required.

Skills & Experience

Experience operating overhead cranes in a factory, warehouse, manufacturing or industrial environment.

MR/HR drivers licence is not necessary, but will be considered a bonus.

This is a factory‑based role involving standing for extended periods, manual handling and physically active work. From time to time, overtime may be required to meet operational deadlines and will apply in accordance with the relevant Enterprise Agreement.
