About Us

Sign for Work, part of Deaf Children Australia, has proudly supported Deaf and hard of hearing people for over 20 years. We’ve helped participants achieve long-term employment and economic independence through accessible, person-centred employment services.

We are building on this legacy as a specialist provider under the IEA program — and we’re growing our team to deliver exceptional support across our Campbelltown, Bankstown, Liverpool, Blacktown, and Parramatta sites.

About the Role

We’re seeking a dedicated Employment Coach to join our team and make a genuine difference.

In this role, you’ll:

- Support participants to prepare for, secure, and sustain employment

- Provide practical job search support — from resumes and applications to interview coaching

- Build and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and referral agencies

- Assist participants with workplace readiness, communication needs, and adjustments

- Achieve service targets and maintain accurate records and case notes

About You

You might have experience in employment services, recruitment,

or coaching — or you may bring Auslan skills and a passion for empowering others. Either way, we’ll provide the training you need to succeed.

We’re looking for someone who has:

- Auslan (Australian Sign Language) skills or a robust commitment to learning

- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills

- Understanding of Deaf culture, Indigenous communities, and CALD backgrounds (desirable)

- Confidence using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

At Sign for Work, you’ll join a values-driven team that celebrates inclusion and supports you to grow.

We offer:

- Work that makes a meaningful impact every day

- Supportive, collaborative colleagues who believe in each other’s strengths

- Ongoing training and professional development — including opportunities to further your Auslan and coaching skills

- Salary packaging up to $15,900 p.a. + meals/entertainment benefits

- Additional leave, including your birthday off

- Access to our Employee Assistance Program

What You’ll Need

- Relevant qualification or equivalent experience

- Working With Children Check (Employee)

- National Police Check (and international if applicable)

- Proof of right to work in Australia

- Two referees

- Current driver’s licence and reliable car

We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Sign for Work is an equal opportunity employer.
We are a child-safe organisation, committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
