About the chance

Our Reconnect Program is about making a real difference through helping young people and their families stay connected, supported, and safe. We work to prevent youth homelessness by strengthening family relationships and building community links that last.

As a Youth & Family Support Worker, you’ll walk alongside young people and families during challenging times, and play a key role in delivering early intervention services that strengthen family relationships and reduce the risk of youth homelessness.

What’s on offer

- Fixed-term, part-time contract until 5th of January 2027
- Minimum 60 hours per fortnight, across four days Monday to Friday
- Employment based in the Maroochydore, servicing Glasshouse, Baringa and Beerwah
- Salary base $92,286 pro-rata per annum + superannuation – IFYS is committed to gender pay equity
- $185 per week motor vehicle allowance
- Not for profit salary packaging options (package up to $15,900 per FBT year)

Key responsibilities

- Deliver comprehensive case management to young people, incorporating individual support, family engagement, mediation, advocacy, and practical assistance
- Provide proactive early intervention strategies that foster family cohesion, housing stability, and overall wellbeing
- Design and facilitate group programs addressing key areas such as mental health, emotional regulation, and positive relationships
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client information, case notes, and reports in compliance with legislative and contractual standards
- Build strong partnerships with schools and community organisations to develop innovative initiatives that support young people and families
- Safely transport clients to educational, medical, and community appointments as required
- A QLD Working with Children Blue Card or have applied for one
- Current Queensland driver's license with no restrictions and a clear traffic record
- Ability to provide two references from recent employers (including your current line manager)
- As part of our recruitment process, we do a number of history screenings including a Licensed Care Suitability check (LCS2) and a National Crime Check
