The Role

Whitsunday Anglican School is seeking a vibrant and passionate Drama Teacher to join our Secondary School in 2027. The successful applicant will inspire creativity and confidence in students across Years 7-12, fostering a love of performance and the arts within a supportive and dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and innovative Drama lessons aligned with the Curriculum for Years 7-12.

Foster creativity, confidence, and self-expression through performance, production, and theoretical studies.

Inspire students to explore the creative arts within a values-based learning environment that reflects the School’s Anglican ethos.

Direct and support student performances, productions, and co-curricular drama activities.

Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that supports the well-being and development of all students.





Use evidence-based teaching practices, assessment strategies, and feedback to enhance student learning outcomes.

Skills and experience

Relevant tertiary qualifications.

Registration with Queensland College of Teachers or the ability to obtain.

Demonstrated high level organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.

A team player with strong interpersonal skills, who has the ability to engage and inspire.

The ability to teach English as well as Drama is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Previous Drama teaching experience is desired.
