Location: Melbourne CBD, VIC (Minimum 3 days per week in the office)

Maltem Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of Deal & Risk Management (DRM) Information Systems projects within a leading energy trading organisation.

This is a delivery-focused role requiring someone who can successfully manage multiple concurrent initiatives while working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and executive leadership.

You will be responsible for driving project delivery from initiation through to implementation, managing governance, risks, budgets, stakeholder engagement, and Agile delivery practices across a complex enterprise environment.

This role would suit an experienced Project Manager who enjoys operating in dynamic environments and is equally comfortable engaging senior business leaders as they are working closely with delivery teams.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

1. Project Delivery & Governance

You will be responsible for delivering multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring strong governance and executive visibility.

- Lead end‑to‑end project delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones and resource plans
- Track project performance against scope, budget and timelines
- Manage RAID registers including risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies
- Ensure projects comply with governance frameworks and reporting requirements
- Coordinate internal teams, vendors and business stakeholders throughout project delivery

2. Stakeholder & Executive Management

Strong stakeholder engagement is essential. You will regularly interact with business leaders, technical teams and executive sponsors.

- Build trusted relationships across business and technology functions




- Facilitate workshops and project planning sessions
- Prepare executive dashboards and project status reporting
- Coordinate and facilitate Steering Committee meetings
- Present project updates, delivery risks and recommendations to senior leadership
- Manage competing stakeholder priorities while maintaining delivery momentum

3. Agile Delivery & Jira Management

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating within Agile delivery environments while maintaining traditional project governance.

- Manage Jira backlogs, dashboards and sprint reporting
- Coordinate backlog prioritisation with Product Owners and delivery teams
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives
- Remove delivery blockers and improve team effectiveness
- Monitor sprint progress and delivery metrics

4. Change & Delivery Management

Beyond project management, this role requires driving organisational change and ensuring successful business adoption.

- Coordinate business readiness activities
- Support change management and communication planningIdentify impacts across business and technology teams
- Monitor project benefits and post‑implementation outcomes
- Escalate delivery risks proactively with mitigation strategies

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead a portfolio of Deal & Risk Management Information Systems projects
- Manage project scope, timelines, financials and resource allocation
- Ensure successful delivery against agreed business objectives
- Drive project governance and executive reporting
- Maintain project documentation and delivery artefacts

Delivery Management

- Coordinate cross‑functional delivery teams
- Manage dependencies across multiple workstreams
- Monitor project progress and delivery health
- Proactively manage risks and issues
- Support vendor and third‑party coordination where required

Governance & Reporting

- Prepare Steering Committee packs and executive presentations
- Provide accurate project reporting including KPIs and delivery metrics
- Maintain RAID logs and governance documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal project delivery methodologies

Stakeholder Engagement

- Build strong relationships across business and IT
- Communicate project progress clearly to all stakeholder groups




- Facilitate workshops and decision‑making sessions
- Manage expectations across senior leadership and delivery teams

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 5 years' experience managing enterprise technology projects
- Strong knowledge of recognised project delivery methodologies including PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent
- Proven experience delivering multiple concurrent projects within complex organisations
- Extensive experience managing project plans, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies
- Strong hands‑on experience using Jira for backlog management, reporting and delivery tracking
- Experience preparing Steering Committee packs and executive reporting
- Demonstrated stakeholder management across business, technology and executive leadership
- Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies with Scrum teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

- Previous experience delivering projects within Energy Trading, Utilities, Banking, Capital Markets or Commodity Trading
- Experience working with Deal & Risk Management (DRM) platforms
- Scrum Master certification or Agile coaching experience
- Experience delivering enterprise technology transformation programs
- Consulting or professional services background
- Experience working within highly regulated industries
