Traffic Controller Team Leader (TC2/TMI2)

We have an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Controller Team Leader (TC2/TMI2) to join our team at Ironside Traffic Pty Ltd in Melbourne, VIC. As a Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for managing traffic flow and ensuring the safety of workers and the public at various worksites. This is a crucial role that requires attention to detail and a robust commitment to workplace health and safety.

What you'll be doing

Controlling and directing traffic at worksites using established traffic management plans (TGS)

Ringing the DTP to open up jobs in the morning

Placing and maintaining traffic control devices such as signs, barriers, and cones

Directing traffic using stop-slow bats and other approved control devices

Monitoring and adjusting traffic flow to ensure the safety of workers and the public

Communicating effectively with site managers, other traffic controllers, and the public

Identifying and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses

Ensuring all work is carried out in line with site requirements and safety standards.

What we're looking for

A white card

A Drivers Licence

Reliable Transportation

Proven experience in a similar traffic control role, preferably in the construction or infrastructure industry





Minimum 1-2 years of traffic control experience required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders

A keen eye for detail and a commitment to workplace health and safety

Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

First Aid certification or willingness to complete First Aid training after hiring
