What you'll do
- Collaborate with product development, platform services, and release management teams to significantly contribute to the development of our embedded user interface and its foundational architecture.
- Integrate third-party C++ libraries to enhance functionality and performance.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise within the Roku Platform, ensuring a smooth user experience.
Requirements
- A solid background in software development with a history of designing and delivering high-quality software for embedded platforms.
- Extensive experience in programming with C++ and familiarity with Embedded Linux or Native Application Development.
- Comprehensive understanding of Linux, including tools, libraries, and open-source development practices.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted programming techniques,
demonstrating an ability to utilize AI tools effectively in your work.
- Knowledge of API design principles and the associated trade-offs.
- Familiarity with libraries and tools such as Boost, PlayReady, ALSA, and DIAL is advantageous.
- Experience in memory management and multi-threaded development environments.
- Exposure to OpenGL and DirectFB is preferred.
- Understanding of media and video technologies, including codecs and media streaming, is a plus.
- Ideally, experience in embedded systems and consumer electronics.
- Ability to accurately estimate software development tasks and adhere to project timelines.
- Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with diverse teams and articulating solutions to various stakeholders.
- A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
