Site Engineer (Electrical Engineering Technician)

Job Description

My Australia Direct HCDL Pty Ltd (Hasson Group) are seeking a full time Site Engineer. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct in office testing of electrical reticulation and associated infrastructure as it is installed across the subdivision, including continuity, insulation and earthing checks, and record results for the project file.
- Assist the Project Manager and consulting engineers in the design and layout review of electrical installations and circuitry across the estate, including substations, switchgear, low-voltage cabling and street lighting.
- Collect field data, carry out routine calculations and prepare charts, tabulations and progress records to track installation quality and program against the approved civil and electrical design.
- Assist in estimating materials quantities and costs for electrical works packages, feeding into progress claims and variation assessments.
- Inspect completed electrical works and installations against the approved design, relevant Australian Standards and Ausgrid/network operator specifications, flagging any non-conformances for rectification.
- Support the installation, calibration,



modification and testing of electrical equipment on site - including kiosks, pillars, service pits and metering points - to make sure everything conforms to regulatory and safety requirements before energisation.
- Prepare and maintain technical drawings, as-built records and inspection reports for submission to the certifying authority, council and the client.
- Liaise daily with the surveyor, civil contractor and electrical subcontractors to sequence works correctly and resolve clashes between civil and electrical scopes on site.
- Attend site meetings and toolbox talks, and contribute technical input on program, quality and WHS matters relevant to the electrical works.
- Keep site records, test certificates and compliance documentation in good order for lot titling and Practical Completion.

Skills and qualifications: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related discipline) and at least one year experience, or at least three years' relevant hands-on experience.
