What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement robust software applications that support Dailypay's mission to provide financial flexibility to employees.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high-quality code standards.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of scalable and maintainable systems that can handle increasing user demand.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software reliability and facilitate continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our software development practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on technical challenges and career development.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability.
- Document software designs, processes, and technical specifications to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
- Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on software features, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on web applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, with a solid understanding of frameworks like Spring, Django, or Node.js.
- Experience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Familiarity with database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for technology and a desire to continuously learn and improve your skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of financial technology and an understanding of payroll systems and employee benefits.

- Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects that demonstrate your coding skills and passion for technology.
