ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a JJ’s Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will play an integral role within our workshop team in our Canberra depot.

You will be conducting all facets of preventative maintenance and repair of heavy rigid vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics, and fabrication.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

We also encourage applications from apprentices at all stages of their training.

ABOUT YOU

Have trade qualifications as a Truck Mechanic - Heavy Commercial Vehicles

Demonstrate an exceptional eye for detail and have a good mechanical aptitude

Ability to mentor and coach other mechanics and apprentices

HR licence- ideally

Reliable and punctual - you show up on time, ready to get the job done

Able to follow process and procedures, but flexible and resourceful enough to adapt on the go

Physically capable and enough strength to engage in regular manual handling

Professional and approachable - the friendly face of JJs internally and a team player

Safety-conscious and committed to following all policies and procedures

Willing to complete a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol test

Founded in 1932, JJ’s Waste & Recycling is Australia’s largest family-owned and operated waste management company. From our beginnings as a small family business, we’ve grown into a global operation servicing Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

We’re actively involved in environmental management and training, converting waste into clean energy, diverting food waste from landfill by turning it into compost, and manufacturing customised waste management equipment.
