Fraser Coast Tourism & Events is seeking highly motivated and experienced Tourism Officer to join its Visitor Information Centre team operating at Hervey Bay, Hervey Bay Airport, and Maryborough. You will help visitors enjoy the best possible experience when exploring our beautiful region.

To be successful, you will have prior experience in the tourism industry or in a customer-facing role from another sector. If you are a people person and love providing great advice, this role is for you.

Experience working with and coordinating volunteer staff would be an advantage, but it is not essential—what matters most is your ability to relate to people from all walks of life.

You are not only a robust communicator in person and by phone, but you can confidently convert interest into sales for regional tours, accommodation, and experiences.



Basic computer skills and confidence with the Microsoft suite of applications are essential.

General knowledge of the Fraser Coast region and its tourism operators and products will be an advantage, as well as experience with retail management and point‑of‑sale systems.

Reporting directly to the Visitor Services Manager, this rewarding role offers the opportunity to do what you love in a vibrant workplace—interacting with visitors from local, domestic, and international markets while promoting the stunning Fraser Coast region.

The successful applicant will be required to work at both the Maryborough and Hervey Bay locations.
