About the Role
North Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised School Administration Officer to join our growing school community in West Wallsend.
This is an exciting Part-time, term-time opportunity for an administration professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional attention to detail, and enjoys supporting students, families, carers, and staff.
Hours of work
- 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
- School term time only
- Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The successful applicant will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the school, providing exceptional administrative support while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and outstanding service across the school community.

Key Responsibilities
Administration
- Provide professional reception services and respond to phone, email, and visitor enquiries.
- Support student enrolment processes and parent communications.
- Maintain accurate student records and administration systems.
- Manage daily student attendance processes.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, applications, and school documentation.
- Take minutes at meetings as required.
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy records in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Support the continuous improvement of administrative systems and procedures.
- Coordinate school uniform stock and undertake stocktakes.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain supplier and customer records.
- Perform simple account reconciliations.
School Community Support
- Assist with the school's wellbeing initiatives, including basic daily food preparation eg Fruit break daily and light lunch twice weekly.
- Support school events, excursions, and other activities.
- Liaise with staff, families,
carers, and external stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings, professional learning, and quality assurance activities.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately.
- Current Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one).
- Current National Police Check (or the ability to obtain one).
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a school environment.
- Experience using TASS or other school management software.
