Support Worker (Sleepover's required) - Supported Independent Living (SIL)

The Dandelion Collective is a disability support provider committed to delivering high-quality Supported Independent Living (SIL) services that empower people with disability to live meaningful and independent lives.
We provide person-centred support within our SIL homes, creating safe and welcoming environments where Participants are supported to develop life skills, build confidence, maintain relationships and achieve their individual goals.
Our team is committed to promoting dignity, respect, choice and inclusion in everything we do. We work alongside Participants, families and support networks to ensure supports are tailored to each person's needs, preferences and aspirations.
About the Role
We are seeking passionate and resilient individuals to join our team and support our Participants in achieving their goals, as well as developing their social and independent living skills.
This role is based in the Newcastle and Maitland areas and involves working across a24/7 rosterwhich could includemornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
As we provide 24-hour support, this role does include sleepover shifts. Please do not submit an application if unable to work this shift type.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively within a supportive and professional team environment.
Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities across a range of activities of daily living, which may include: Domestic duties and household tasks, Personal care assistance, Social support, Medication support, Manual handling and mobility assistance, Transportation, Meal preparation, and Attending appointments or outings.
Provide direct person-centred support to Participants in line with their individual goals, support plans and preferences.
Promote independence, skill development and meaningful community engagement.
Support Participants with complex needs,
mental health concerns and behaviours of concern using a positive and person-centred approach.
Build, establish, and maintain positive relationships with all key stakeholders, including Participants, their families, guardians, and other involved services, ensuring respectful and effective communication at all times.
Complete accurate documentation, including progress notes, medication records, incident reports and other required records.
Support compliance with organisational policies, NDIS Practice Standards and workplace health and safety requirements.
Report incidents, risks and concerns in a timely manner and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Flexibility to work across afternoons, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
MUST be available to work sleepover shifts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong documentation and computer skills.
Smart Phone.
A genuine commitment to person-centred practice, inclusion and participant choice.
Certificate 3 Individual Support
Certificate 4 in Disability, Community Services, Youth Work or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Knowledge of the NDIS, disability and Community Services sector.
Experience working within Supported Independent Living services.
Experience supporting Participants with psychosocial disability, complex behaviours or behaviours of concern.
Experience with medication administration and documentation.
Experience using Flow Logic or similar client management systems.
