About the Role
The Cook will work with the Directors in developing and cooking the menu for the children, shopping for the food supplies. You will be guided in ensuring you fill in the required documentation for the Food Safety Plan and to meet the legislative requirements for running a commercial kitchen.
- preparing morning tea each day - fruit platter, cheese and biscuits
- preparing and cooking a meal for 46 children
- preparing afternoon teas such as scrolls, cakes, slices - sweet and savory
- having a thorough knowledge of children's allergies and dietary requirements and preparing food that is safe for everyone.
- filling in daily and weekly data sheets
- attending the annual kitchen audits and being able to answer the regulatory questions
About You
- Previous experience in similar role required
- Basic training or experience in cooking in childcare or similar
- Ability to share ideas and receive feedback in developing the menu and the flavour of the food
- Ability to work as part of team
- Working with Children Check
- National online child safety training certificate
