Job description: In this role, you will maintain a high standard of cleaning in allocated areas, removal of garbage and collection-distribution of linen. The Team: Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania.
As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
The Role: In accordance with department policies and procedures, maintain a high standard of cleaning in areas across Hospitals South including removal of garbage and collection-distribution of linen.
Perform general cleaning duties including floor and wall maintenance in offices, wards, corridors, toilet blocks and other designated areas throughout the health facility as directed. Undertake a variety of cleaning tasks and other related duties including removal of garbage and collection-distribution of linen.
Ensure safe manual handling techniques are used in the operation of equipment and report any faults, in a timely manner, to enable corrective action to be taken.
- Previous cleaning experience, preferably within a hospital environment.
- Awareness of, and familiarity with, equipment currently in use within the commercial cleaning industry.
- A basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and solutions.

Details of appointment: Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 12 months.

Applicants must be available for shifts during the week
- daytime, evening and night.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar casual vacancies. Salary: $59,668 - $65,185 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Plus 25% Casual Loading
- Equivalent of $37.60 to $41.07 per hour
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025 Salary Packaging:
