Job Summary
The Legal Counsel is responsible for supporting the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Legal Counsel in delivering commercially sound, strategic and practical legal advice to EOS' business units.
This role operates as a generalist, providing legal expertise across a range of key areas, including contracts, corporate law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, policy, property, and employment and workplace law.
Primary duties
Draft, review, and manage complex legal documentation in support of business unit activities, ensuring alignment with EOS policies and applicable legislation.
Support the Chief Legal Officer and Senior Legal Counsel on Defence and Space supply transactions and corporate matters.
Manage EOS' intellectual property portfolio, including registrations, renewals, searches, and maintenance of associated records and databases.
Partner with business units to provide legal and compliance advice,



including guidance on contractual strategy for key projects, procurement, and tender activities.
Provide practical advice on the interpretation and application of relevant laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Assist in meeting all legal reporting and compliance obligations within Australia and applicable global jurisdictions.
Undertake additional duties as directed by the Chief Legal Officer.
Bachelor of Laws and eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
Experience
Demonstrates a willingness to learn and develop professionally within a complex, high‐performing setting.
Robust communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements.
2–3 years' post‐admission experience in a top or mid‐tier law firm, and/or equivalent in‐house experience.
Experience in a procurement, contracting, or commercial setting (desirable).
