Australian Drafting & Design is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to coordinate mechanical installation works at a major operating process facility in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day site delivery, scheduling, contractor coordination, safety documentation, and practical installation planning. This is a hands‑on brownfield role working independently under the oversight of the Capital Project Engineer.

Construction Supervisor – Mechanical Installation

- Coordinate daily mechanical installation activities.
- Prepare schedules, work plans, JSEAs, SWMS, and lifting‑plan sketches.
- Engage contractors and support installation scope discussions.
- Coordinate welding, scaffolding, rigging, lifting, and access requirements.
- Develop practical installation concepts to support engineering design.
- Monitor contractor performance and stop unsafe work where necessary.
- Complete high‑risk work permits for approval.





Essential Requirements

- 5+ years of mechanical construction or installation supervision experience.
- Brownfield experience within an operating process plant.
- Strong knowledge of welding, scaffolding, rigging, and constrained‑site installations.
- Ability to produce schedules and project documentation independently.
- Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry tickets.

Desirable

- Forklift licence, highly desirable.
- EWP, rigging, dogging, or High Risk Work Licence.
- Mechanical trade background.
- Food, GMP, or hygiene‑sensitive manufacturing experience.

This is a long‑term prospect for a capable supervisor who can take ownership of complex mechanical installation works and deliver practical site solutions.
