About the role

Join the Software Infrastructure team to manage and scale the systems that support our machine learning stack. You will create tools and services that improve how our software is built, tested, and deployed across high-performance computing platforms.

Location: Cambridge, UK Engagement: Full-time Team: Build Engineering (within Software Operations)

What you'll do

- Build internal tools for the integration, testing, and construction of the ML software stack.
- Create technical processes and tools to support software releases.
- Advise developers on dependency management and build best practices.
- Coordinate with architects, tech leads, and developers regarding the ML software stack.
- Collaborate with QA to resolve integration issues and ensure stack stability.
- Submit code fixes directly to the ML software stack.

Requirements

- Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Practical experience with build frameworks and processes.
- Background working in Linux environments.
- Effective communication skills.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with remote execution and caching systems like Bazel.




- Experience with build tools such as CMake.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks including GoogleTest or PyTest.
- Experience with integration tools like Buildstream.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience using or building containers with Podman or Docker.
- Knowledge of software architecture patterns.
