Colbycool is seeking a 2nd Year Mechanical Apprentice Plumber to join our team in Hallam, Victoria. This is a full-time apprenticeship position offering you an exciting opportunity to develop your plumbing skills within a professional and supportive environment. As a 2nd year apprentice, you will be building on your foundational knowledge and working alongside experienced plumbers to gain practical expertise in mechanical plumbing systems, installations, and maintenance. This role is pivotal in your journey towards becoming a qualified tradesperson, and you will contribute meaningfully to the delivery of quality plumbing services to our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting experienced plumbers with the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems in residential and commercial properties
- Learning and applying proper techniques for pipe fitting, soldering, and connections under supervision
- Supporting the completion of mechanical plumbing tasks including hot water systems, drainage systems and water supply installations
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practices
- Attending and completing required apprenticeship training through your registered training provider
- Using plumbing tools and equipment correctly and responsibly, with guidance from senior tradespeople
- Assisting with measuring, cutting and threading pipes and other plumbing materials
- Supporting the diagnosis and troubleshooting of plumbing problems under mentorship

What we’re looking for

- Currently enrolled in or have completed your 1st year of a plumbing apprenticeship with a registered training provider




- A strong interest in the plumbing trade and commitment to completing your apprenticeship qualification
- Excellent practical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Ability to work safely and follow health and safety protocols without exception
- Good communication skills and a willingness to take direction from experienced team members
- Physical fitness and capability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and working at heights where necessary
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn and problem-solving mindset
- Preferably, some prior experience or exposure to the plumbing or trades industry
