The Opportunity
As Director of Infrastructure Asset Management, you will provide strategic leadership across the planning, delivery, maintenance and optimisation of one of Queensland Health's most diverse infrastructure portfolios. Reporting at an executive level, you will lead the Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) function, ensuring the Health Service's facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment continue to support the delivery of safe, efficient and contemporary healthcare across the region.
Leading approximately 50 professional, technical and trade staff through 4–5 direct reports,
you'll provide leadership across engineering, maintenance, project delivery and asset management while fostering a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, government agencies and external partners, you will drive strategic planning, optimise asset performance and ensure infrastructure investments support the organisation's long‑term objectives. You will also provide strong financial and operational leadership, managing budgets, contracts and resources while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and high performance within the Infrastructure Asset Management team.
About You
You are a strategic and influential infrastructure leader with extensive experience managing complex asset portfolios within large, multidisciplinary organisations.
You will bring:
Demonstrated executive leadership experience in infrastructure, engineering, facilities or asset management within a complex operating environment.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure governance, asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning and capital project delivery.
Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capability,
with the ability to translate complex information into sound organisational decision-making.
Outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills, with experience working effectively across executive leadership teams, government agencies and external partners.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Sound financial, contract and risk management expertise.
Qualifications and/or experience in Asset Management or Health Facility Planning will be highly regarded.
