What you'll do

- Develop and implement effective business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market penetration in the financial services sector.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations that align with Athena's strategic goals.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to inform business decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, industry partners, and internal teams.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create compelling value propositions and promotional materials that resonate with target audiences.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to potential clients and partners, showcasing the benefits of Athena's offerings.




- Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to inform strategic planning and identify potential threats and opportunities.
- Track and report on business development metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
- Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry gatherings to represent Athena and expand professional connections.
- Mentor and support junior team members in their professional development and business development skills.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards in business development activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of business initiatives and alignment with company objectives.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and securing new business opportunities and partnerships.
- Strong understanding of the Australian financial landscape, including mortgage products and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills,



with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools is an advantage.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment, particularly within fintech.
- Existing network of contacts within the Australian financial services sector.
- Familiarity with digital marketing strategies and tools.
