About us
Green. ANVIL. is a boutique Sydney based builder delivering architect led, high end residential projects defined by traditional craftsmanship, architectural precision, and a quality first approach.
The opportunity
This is a new role created to lift the standard of delivery on our most detailed projects. You will run one major project at a time on bespoke new builds and major renovations valued $1,500,000 to $5,000,000, working closely with the office team (PM and CA) and directly with the client, architect, and consultants.
The Site Manager role at Green. ANVIL. is hands off tools but deeply hands on the site. You own delivery, quality, programme, and the day to day running of trades and subcontractors. You do not carry full commercial responsibility, but you are the eyes and ears that keep our contractual position clean: flagging variations, drafting RFIs, triggering EOT and latent condition notices for the CA to process and the PM to approve.
The immediate project is a circa $3,000,000 architect led renovation and addition to a heritage terrace on a tight inner west Sydney site. Technical pattern: underpinning and party wall works, off-form and burnished concrete, structural steel into existing fabric and premium finishes
Key responsibilities
- Own on site delivery, quality, and programme from early works to completion
- Run the daily site: pre starts, toolbox talks, trade coordination, sequencing
- Drive finishing quality and defects management to sign off at key stages
- Coordinate underpinning, party wall, and neighbour interface works, including dilapidation
- Trigger latent condition and EOT notices in correct form for the CA to process
- Draft RFIs to architects, engineers, and consultants, and chase responses
- Flag variations and scope changes for pricing by the office team
- Own WHS on site: SWMS review, inductions, incident reporting, subcontractor compliance
- Supervise and mentor trades, apprentices, and a Leading Hand where applicable
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants at site meetings
- Keep site diaries, photo records, and reports that stand up as a contractual record
About you
- Strong background in high end residential new builds and major renovations, ideally heritage inner Sydney work
- Proven site lead on projects $1,500,000 to $5,000,000 as Site Manager, Senior Foreman, or working Site Manager
- Ideally 7 or more years running sites, with transparent examples of projects owned end to end
- Experience with underpinning, party walls, suspended slabs, and structural steel into existing fabric
- Detail obsessed with premium finishes: specified cladding, timber floors, in slab services
- Strong written communication: RFIs, notices, diaries, and reports that hold up as a contractual record
- Highly organised systems for programme, trades, procurement lead times, and paperwork
- Firm but fair leadership: sets standards, holds trades to them, and mentors the next layer down
- Confident with BuildPass or similar site and WHS systems, and comfortable with digital drawings, PDFs, and email
Advantageous
- Trade qualified carpenter (Cert III Carpentry and Joinery) or equivalent trade background
- Qualified Supervisor Certificate and/or Cert IV or Diploma in Building
- Direct ABIC contract experience including drafting notices, EOT triggers, and latent condition claims
- Prior experience mentoring a Foreman or Leading Hand into their next role
What we offer
- Competitive package including vehicle/allowance, aligned to experience
- Architect led, design driven projects with high levels of detail
- One major project at a time so you can own the outcome
- Supportive PM and CA team that carries the commercial and contract admin load
