A rare senior leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to step into the role of Clinical Lead – Anaesthetics within Tasmania's Department of Health. As Clinical Lead – Anaesthetics , you will work closely with the Clinical Director – Surgical and Perioperative Services to provide strategic leadership across anaesthetic services. This role combines clinical excellence with system-­level leadership , supporting integration across hospital sites and driving high-quality, patient-centred care.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing clinical leadership and strategic direction for Anaesthetic Services
- Supporting service integration and continuous improvement across the region




- Delivering specialist anaesthesia services, including participation in on-­call rosters
- Promoting collaboration across surgical, perioperative and critical care teams
- Contributing to workforce development, governance and quality initiatives

This role is ideally suited to a senior clinician who enjoys leadership, values collaboration, and is motivated to improve healthcare systems alongside patient outcomes.

The Department of Health maintains strong links with the University of Tasmania Rural Clinical School and offers a comprehensive training and education framework.

- Total remuneration package up to $550,000 p.a.
- 12% employer superannuation (dependent on experience)
