Welding Supervisor and Compliance Officer

PacifiCO Structural Steel is seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor and Compliance Officer to join our team in Dandenong South, Victoria. This is a full-time position that combines hands‑on welding expertise with supervisory and compliance responsibilities. As Welding Supervisor and Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our welding operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee welding teams, manage safety protocols, and ensure adherence to industry standards and legislation. This role is essential to maintaining PacifiCO Structural Steel's reputation for excellence in the structural steel construction industry.

Key responsibilities

- Help achieving the CC3 certification, maintain the ISO certification standards
- Supervise and manage welding teams to ensure work is completed to specification, on time and within budget
- Conduct regular inspections of welding work to verify compliance with Australian Standards and project specifications
- Ensure all welding personnel maintain current certifications and qualifications, and arrange training where necessary
- Monitor and enforce workplace health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment
- Maintain detailed records of welding inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation
- Investigate and report on welding defects, non-conformances and safety incidents
- Liaise with clients, project managers and other stakeholders regarding welding quality and compliance matters




- Prepare and maintain compliance reports for internal management and external audits
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
- Mentor and develop junior welding staff and supervisors

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification or equivalent experience in welding, with a minimum of 5 years' supervisory or senior welding experience
- Current welding certification relevant to structural steel work, or the ability to obtain certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Welding Standards (AS/NZS 1554 series) and relevant construction regulations
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
- Proven experience in quality control and inspection of welded structures
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams
- Experience with documentation systems and compliance record-keeping
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and external stakeholders
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Preferred: Experience in ISO 9001 quality management systems or equivalent quality frameworks
