Blake Oliver Consulting is working with a well-established Australian banking group to appoint a Regional General Manager into their SME and Small Business Banking division, leading one of the group's most dynamic and diverse regions across Geelong and the western suburbs of Melbourne.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can balance strong commercial outcomes with disciplined risk and compliance leadership, bringing together customer advocacy, performance and people leadership. It's a visible, connected role — building trusted relationships with customers, community partners and internal stakeholders, while empowering leaders across the region to grow and succeed.

What You'll Do

- Lead and develop an established SME Banking team, building on a solid regional presence
- Attract, develop and retain a high-performing team of Relationship Managers and support staff
- Drive growth across lending, deposits and revenue within the SME segment
- Develop and execute regional business plans aligned to the broader business strategy
- Build and maintain senior relationships with key clients, referral partners and industry stakeholders
- Ensure strong credit risk management and adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks
- Represent the bank in the local market, enhancing brand visibility and reputation

What We're Looking For

- Proven experience leading commercial or business banking teams
- Strong background in SME or mid-market banking, including lending and relationship management
- Sound knowledge of credit, risk and compliance,



with the ability to manage balance sheet quality across a diverse portfolio
- Commercial judgement and confidence in decision-making
- A customer-first mindset with strong relationship-building capability and a collaborative, team-player mentality
- A leadership style aligned to strong values and a Code of Conduct
