About the Position: The Meat Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality, safety and regulatory compliance at Hilal Meat Products Company Pty Ltd. This position involves inspecting animal carcasses, internal organs and processing facilities to identify any quality or health issues, while monitoring hygiene, auditing procedures and verifying adherence to Australian food safety and halal requirements.

By safeguarding the integrity of our premium meat products throughout processing, storage and distribution, the Meat Inspector supports the company’s reputation for excellence and contributes directly to consumer trust and successful domestic and export operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspecting animal carcasses, internal organs and meat products to identify quality issues,



diseases or impurities and ensure compliance with required standards.
- Auditing and monitoring quality procedures at processing facilities, cold storage and packing areas to maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
- Testing samples of meat products for quality, size, purity and adherence to halal certification requirements.
- Ensuring required standards of hygiene are observed throughout storage, processing, packaging and transport.
- Providing advice on disease eradication, pest and disease identification, and regulations pertaining to grading, packing and loading of products.
- Coordinating with production teams on quality assurance matters and contributing to continuous improvement in processing operations.
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections and assisting with regulatory compliance and export documentation as needed.

Requirements

- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Required qualifications: An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in the field (at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications).

Required Experience

- A minimum of 1 year of experience within the Meat Inspector occupation or a closely related role.

Required Technical and Interpersonal Skills

- Strong knowledge of Australian meat industry standards, food safety regulations and halal certification processes
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills for conducting thorough inspections
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a processing facility
- Strong communication skills for providing advice to producers and colleagues
- Problem-solving abilities in identifying and addressing quality issues
- A commitment to maintaining high hygiene and compliance standards in a dynamic operational setting
