Box Hill Institute is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Registered Nurses who are passionate about sharing their clinical expertise and supporting students to become capable, confident and work-ready nursing professionals.

Casual teaching opportunities are available across our Elgar (Box Hill), Lilydale and Melbourne CBD campuses. While these roles are casual, we are seeking applicants who can offer consistent, regular availability, ideally on a weekly basis, to support planned teaching allocations and continuity for students.

We are particularly interested in nurses with contemporary experience in areas such as:

- Sub-acute and rehabilitation care
- Aged care
- Community and primary health

Successful applicants will bring real-world clinical knowledge into the classroom and simulation environment, helping students connect theory with practice and build the skills required for contemporary nursing practice.

Salary ranges from $91.42 - $98.77 per hour (dependent on qualifications & experience).

What you'll do:

As a Nursing Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting students throughout their Diploma of Nursing journey. More than delivering content, you will create engaging learning experiences, facilitate student participation, build confidence and guide learners towards successful course completion and employment outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

- Deliver engaging and industry-relevant learning across classroom, simulation and workplace learning environments.
- Facilitate active learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, clinical reasoning and professional communication.
- Support students from diverse backgrounds to achieve their learning goals and progress successfully through the course.
- Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive and supportive feedback.
- Create inclusive and supportive learning environments that promote student engagement, confidence and wellbeing.
- Contribute to assessment validation, moderation and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and Institute policies.

What You'll Bring

We are seeking clinicians who are passionate about developing the future nursing workforce and can translate their experience into engaging and meaningful learning experiences. The ideal candidate will bring:

- Recent and relevant experience in acute, sub-acute, aged care, community health or other specialist nursing settings.
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Confidence delivering learning in both classroom and simulation environments.




- The ability to explain clinical concepts clearly and adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs.
- A strong commitment to student success, progression and positive learning experiences.
- The ability to motivate, support and build confidence in learners at different stages of their educational journey.
- A commitment to maintaining vocational and educator currency and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/22) or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education (applicants currently studying or willing to complete this requirement will also be considered).
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Current or recent hands-on clinical experience in acute, sub-acute, aged care, community, primary health or another relevant specialist nursing setting. (minimum 5 years).
- Strong digital literacy and experience using learning management systems
