Advanced or Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner and Supervisor

We are seeking a full time or part time Advanced or Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner who:

Is interested in organisational behaviour management

Enjoys mentoring and providing supervision

Is driven to ensure our Behaviour Support Services are delivered to a high standard

Loves working in a multidisciplinary clinic alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, and Allied Health Assistants.

Loves working with paediatric clients

Tasks & responsibilities

OBM related tasks and responsibilities

Deliver weekly 1:1 supervision sessions to Alternative Pathways and Core Behaviour Support Practitioners

Deliver fortnightly 1:1 supervision sessions to Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioners

Deliver weekly 1:1 supervision sessions for providers who are working towards becoming a Certified Behaviour Analyst. (Ideal but not required).

Deliver group supervision sessions

Ensure your supervisees have developed and are working towards their professional development plan and have SMART goals for supervision

Help your supervisee’s manage their caseloads and diaries (ensure caseloads are feasible and sustainable and within their scope).

Ensure your supervisee’s are meeting all of their compliance and professional registration requirements

Help team members from other disciplines increase their knowledge of behaviour support services and restrictive practices

Work on monthly projects to continuously improve behaviour support services at The Shine Centre

Give presentations to team members and the community around Behaviour Support

Work closely with The Shine Centre’s management team around your supervisee’s progress and the behaviour support services.

Attend OBM supervision sessions and trainings

Client related tasks and responsibilities

Develop interim and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans in line with NDIS Guidelines.

Monitor and report on the use of restrictive practices.



Always strive to work towards eliminating the use of restrictive practices!

Provide trainings to parents/carers, support workers, and educators regarding the implementation of the behaviour support plan.

Work closely with each clients’ team to work towards the best outcomes for the client

Develop SMART goals and therapy plans for clients and ensure these are on their client file.

Provide 1:1 sessions with clients to help them reach their behaviour support goals.

Administer functional behaviour assessments and other behaviour assessments (as required)

Write reports and letters to a high standard

Complete administration tasks associated with client sessions (e.g., complete session notes and document communication)

Attend and document care team meetings as required

Be a leader and example to the team with your own clinical practice.

Qualifications & experience

You must hold a behaviour support practitioner ID with the NDIS

You must hold suitability as an Advanced or Specialist Practitioner

At least five experience as behaviour support practitioner and

Hold other allied health credentials (Masters or Post Grad in Behaviour, Psychology (Bachelors/Masters/Provisional), OT, Speech, etc) CBA or BCBA candidates (or working towards certification) are ideal but not required. If you are not yet a CBA, we would like to help you get there!

Must have experience working with children and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disability,



complex behaviour and/or experience working in disability.

Must hold an NDIS Worker Screener # and Victorian WWCC

Must hold first aid certificate

Current drivers licence and access to a car is ideal

The role can be hybrid so some non-face-to-face work can be completed from home.

This is an employee not contractor position. This means you have a predictable weekly wage (above award rate, superannuation, and paid leave).
