About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to partner with the General Manager and operational leaders to drive commercial performance across the business.

This is not a traditional accounting role. We are looking for a commercially minded professional who can translate financial information into actionable insights, challenge performance, and influence decision-making.

Working closely with Manufacturing and Distribution leaders, you will provide strategic financial support across sales, margin, inventory, and cost management while maintaining strong financial discipline and controls.

The role will also support the organisation's emerging ESG and climate reporting requirements.

Based in Bankstown, NSW, this position will involve regular engagement with stakeholders across our branch network.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with operational leaders to drive performance across sales, margin, inventory, and cost control.
- Provide actionable financial insights, identify risks and opportunities, and support commercial decision-making.
- Lead month-end close activities and deliver accurate, timely financial and management reporting.




- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis against plan.
- Ensure accurate P&L;, Balance Sheet, and Head Office reporting requirements are met.
- Maintain strong financial controls, including general ledger reconciliations and month-end procedures.
- Support pricing, quoting, product costing, margin optimisation, and cost management initiatives.
- Maintain standard costs and analyse key cost drivers, including purchase price variances.
- Oversee inventory performance, stock reconciliation, and working capital management.
- Support ESG and sustainability reporting for the group, ensuring the integrity of financial and non-financial data.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and report sustainability metrics in line with evolving requirements.
- Identify and implement improvements across commercial and operational performance drivers.
- Spend time in branches to understand business performance and support operational leaders.
- Support strategic projects, business initiatives, and investment decisions.

About you

- Experience in a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant or Financial Accountantrole
- Exposure to operational environments such as distribution, manufacturing or B2B
- Manufacturing accounting experience will be highly regarded




- Strong ability to translate financial data into practical actions
- Confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused mindset
- Strong communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability
- Exposure to ESG, sustainability or climate reporting requirements would be advantageous
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience with D365preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
- CA or CPAcertification
